Analytic geometry


Students should be able to

  • understand how analytic geometry relates to geometrical and algebraic concepts

  • understand the concept of a set of points as equations and use these equations as reference to points, lines, circles and parabolas

  • understand in more detail the concept of absolute value and solve basic absolute value equations and inequalities of the type | f (x) | = A or | f (x) | = | g (x) |

  • use technological tools to examine a locus of points together with equations, a systems of equations, absolute value equations and inequalities when solving practical problems.
