Degrees and radians

There are angular units used other than degrees. In this course, we will largely use radians as the unit of an angle. There is a connection between radians and degrees

The relationship between degrees and radians will become clearer in the next section, 'The unit circle'.


Example 1

Convert to 180°, 90° and 45° into radians.


Since 360 ° = 2𝛑 radians, then

How many radians is 20°?

First we find how many radians is one degree

Now we can multiply it by 20

Example 3

How many degrees is 2,1 radians?

First we find how many degrees is one radian

Now we can multiply it by 2,1
